In 2005, I moved to a full-time position with EDCI in order to assume the assistant chair role. Prior to that I held a joint appointment between EDCI and Department of Communication. Responsibilities have featured conducting research in narrative, English education, and teacher education; teaching courses in narrative, rhetoric, adolescent literature, language arts, English methods, action research, and other education courses; advising about 15 undergraduates and 25 graduate students annually; directing the undergraduate communication education and co-directing English education programs; directing the Master's Certification Program for Curriculum & Instruction (1992-2000); directing the Speech Communication Division of the Department of Communication Arts &Theatre (l984-1986); acting as Associate Chair for Research in Department of Curriculum & Instruction (1984-1985).
